Remove the trim panel
Carefully pry off the plastic trim surrounding your radio using a flat-head screwdriver or plastic prying tool. On some models, the trim simply pulls off.
Slide the radio forward
Insert radio release keys into the corner slots (or remove the mounting screws) and slide the unit forward. You do not need to disconnect any wires — just slide it far enough to see the label.
Read the serial on the label
Look for a sticker on the side or back of the casing. The serial is 14 characters long and starts with VWZ (VW), AUZ (Audi), SEZ (SEAT) or SKZ (Skoda).
